Triple brass feet lift the rounded body just enough to give it presence, while the matching brass handle and fitted lid—topped with a classic brass knob—complete the form with quiet authority. Stamped on the base with “Le Cellier Villedieu,” this cauldron traces back to the historic copper-working town of Villedieu-les-Poêles in Normandy, long celebrated for its master coppersmiths and artisanal cookware. Warm copper tones, gentle age, and balanced proportions give it the air of a well-made object that has already lived a life. The exterior patina has been intentionally preserved for its character, beauty, and value. Copper can be polished back to its original copper-rose tone if desired, but maintaining the patina honors the piece’s age and retains its antique integrity.
